Every book has its own voice.
We design book covers that feel as intentional as the stories behind them. bookcovers-design.com is a subdivision of NM Design, a studio led by Lisbon-based art director and photographer Nuno Moreira.
With over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, and a particular passion for books, Nuno has collaborated with publishers, small presses, literary agents, and independent authors worldwide.
As you might have already seen, our work is varied and emphasizes mood, atmosphere, tension, color dynamics and striking type arrangements— always shaped by a sharp attention to detail. Each design is crafted to capture the essence of the book and resonate with readers.
We believe every book is different and should be addressed in a precise manner. A book cover should be individualized and hopefully imaginative. Most importantly, we believe books should be evocative and stimulant to the mind/eye, therefore addressed beyond literalism.
Our approach blends conceptual thinking with diverse influences — from cinema and painting to music and architecture — and is grounded in close, thoughtful communication with our clients.
All covers are developed after reading the manuscript and built from original artwork tailored to the book.
